TFC Mens Soccer Shines in Historic 2025 Season
Dec 19, 2025

The Toccoa Falls College men’s soccer team etched its name into the program’s history books this season, completing the most successful campaign the Eagles have enjoyed in over a decade.

TFC captured its first NCCAA South Region Championship since 2012, earning an automatic berth to the NCCAA National Championship tournament. The Eagles finished the season with a 14-5-3 overall record, marking the winningest season in program history and surpassing the previous high of eight wins that had stood since 2015.

One of the defining moments of the season came against longtime regional power Bob Jones University. Prior to 2025, BJU held a perfect 17-0-0 all-time record against TFC dating back to 2012. Earlier in the season, the Eagles secured their first non-loss against the Bruins with a scoreless draw. The two teams met again in the South Region Championship, and once again found themselves deadlocked. After two overtime periods, and with just 37 seconds remaining, the Eagles found the decisive goal to secure the championship, breaking through against the No. 1 seed and punching their ticket to the national tournament.

At the NCCAA National Championship, TFC continued its historic run by sweeping pool play with a perfect 3-0 record. The Eagles opened the tournament with a 3-2 victory over Southwestern Adventist University, followed by a 2-0 win against Central Christian College of the Bible. In a regular-season rematch with Boyce College, previously a 2-2 draw, TFC earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory to complete pool play undefeated.

TFC advanced to the National Championship match, facing Pensacola Christian College for the third time this season. The Eagles’ postseason run concluded with a 3-0 loss, finishing as national runners-up in just their fourth-ever appearance in the NCCAA National Championship match, and the first since 1990.

Individual accolades highlighted the depth and quality of the Eagles’ roster. Patricio Bennevendo and Brandon Huerta were both named to the NCCAA All-Tournament Team, with Bennevendo also earning First Team All-American honors. Head coach Nathan Lowery was recognized for his leadership and impact, being named both NCCAA South Region Coach of the Year and NCCAA National Coach of the Year.

Between record-breaking performances, a long-awaited region championship, and a national championship appearance, the 2025 season stands as a landmark year for Toccoa Falls men’s soccer. The Eagles’ resilience, growth, and competitive spirit have set a new standard for the program and established TFC as a rising force within the NCCAA.
